Another happy birthday is in order!
Sarah Jessica Parker turns 50 today (hard to believe, we know!), and what better way to celebrate the Sex and the City icon’s big day than by reviewing her top fashion moments? Like her onscreen alter ego Carrie Bradshaw, SJP rarely has a style misstep—probably because she’s always clad in a pair of Manolo Blahniks!
At the 2003 Emmys, a radiant SJP dropped jaws across the red carpet in a frothy tulle Chanel confection. From pretty to punky, the actress took the 2013 Met Gala’s punk-rock theme to heart with an edgy Giles Deacon ball gown complete with a feathered Philip Treacy headpiece. But at the 2010 New York City Ballet fall gala, she was back to her staple elegance in a shimmering champagne Halston Heritage number.
In a delicate floral Vivienne Westwood confection, she crushed all sartorial competition at the Sex and the City 2 premiere in Japan. And her 2014 Met Gala gown—does a dress come closer to perfection? We think not. Her custom Oscar de la Renta design turned more than a few heads, and created an unforgettable fashion moment.
And as if her red carpet style weren’t sharp enough—have you seen the star’s drool-worthy street looks? Seriously, whether she’s going to a gala or running to the grocery store, SJP is never under dressed.
So happy birthday, Sarah Jessica, and here’s to another year of sharp style!
