Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
Caitlyn Jenner let Kate Middleton know Wednesday that she is a big fan of hers by channeling one of the royal’s most famous looks—the blue Issa London dress she wore to announce her engagement to Prince William in 2010. The I Am Cait star even matched the look right down to the shoes, also choosing to wear black kitten heels with the “Phylis” wrap dress.
The E! star slightly altered the look by tying a bow in the front, while the Duchess of Cambridge kept her ribbons tied in the back. But both chose to wear their long brunette locks down, completing the twin-like transformation.
Kate’s iconic dress has always immediately sold out, even years after it first made its debut on the mom-of-two. The famous frock appeared on shelves at Harvey Nichols once again this summer but almost instantly sold out thanks to the Kate effect. The dress retailed for $ 900, so you know the British department store had a good day in July.
As we all know, the Phylis dress was just the first of many looks to sell out almost immediately after being spotted on the 33-year-old duchess. Even Prince George‘s clothes have their own effect—they’re also selling out regularly. No one can get enough of the regal family’s wardrobe.
Caitlyn’s wardrobe has been on point since she made her first public appearance at the ESPYs, where she stunned in a breathtaking Atelier Versace wrap dress that was similar to a dress once worn by Angelina Jolie in 2010. It’s clear that this star loves her wraps.
The ESPY Awards were an exciting time for Caitlyn. Watch what Brody Jenner had to say about supporting her!
